FAQs
Aluminum alloy die-casting parts offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, superior thermal conductivity, and good electrical conductivity, making them ideal for smartphones, laptops, and home appliances where they reduce weight, improve heat dissipation, and enhance EMC performance
Common processes include anodizing, electrophoretic coating, powder coating, sandblasting, and PVD. Powder coating offers diverse colors and excellent weather resistance, while anodizing enhances corrosion resistance and surface hardness, ideal for device enclosures and control panels
Alloys like ADC-12 inherently attenuate EMI/RFI. With adequate wall thickness (≥1.5 mm) and post-anodize treatments such as copper or silver plating, shielding effectiveness can exceed 60 dB, meeting consumer electronics EMI requirements
A typical process melts aluminum alloy, ladles it into a cold-chamber die casting machine, injects it into the mold under high pressure, opens the mold to eject the part after solidification, then deburrs, machines, and applies surface treatments. Cycle times of 30–60 seconds make it ideal for high-volume production
DFM guidelines call for uniform wall thickness (0.8–3.0 mm), draft angles ≥3°, fillet radii ≥0.5 mm, and strategic gate and parting line placement to ensure uniform flow, easy demolding, and minimized stress concentrations
After deburring, finish machining should be done first. For tapping, thread-forming taps are preferred to create fully formed threads in aluminum, preventing chip buildup and enhancing joint reliability
The most common grades are A380 (Al-Si alloy), A360, and A383, which balance fluidity, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance; for parts requiring higher strength and heat resistance, Al-Si-Cu series alloys are also used
At CastMold, quality is non-negotiable. Our strict quality control (QC) processes, backed by ISO 9001:2015, RoHS, and REACH certifications, guarantee that every component meets industry-leading standards. Our dedicated QA team conducts rigorous inspections at every production stage—from raw material selection to final shipment—ensuring flawless performance and reliability.
